Turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises down 2.8pct Jan-Oct

Turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises lost 2.8pct in the first ten months of this year compared to the same period last year, as gross series, and 2.5pct, respectively, as series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality, according to a press release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) sent on Friday to AGERPRES.

As gross series, in the reference period, the decrease in turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises was generated by the decrease recorded in transport activities (-7.4%), other services provided mainly to enterprises (-2.1%), IT and information technology services activities (-1.9%). In contrast, cinematographic, video, television programme production activities, broadcasting and transmission of programmes increased by 9.5%, and communication activities by 0.2%.

As series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality, turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises decreased, overall, by 2.5%.

In October 2024, compared to the previous month, turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises increased, overall, by 3.1%, due to the increase in turnover from cinematographic, video, television programme production activities; broadcasting and transmission of programmes (+17.2%), transport activities (+7.0%), communication activities (+6.7%) and from other services provided mainly to enterprises (+2.5%). Computer and information technology service activities decreased by 0.9%.

According to the INS data, turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises, series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality, decreased by 1.2pct overall in October 2024, compared to the previous month.

Compared to October 2023, turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises, decreased by 7.0%, overall, as gross series, as a result of the decrease in turnover from IT and information technology services activities (-14.0%), transport activities (-9.2%), cinematographic, video, television programme production activities; broadcasting and transmission of programmes (-4.7%) and from other services provided mainly to enterprises (-4.6%). In contrast, communications activities increased by 5.7%.

As adjusted series, turnover in market services provided mainly to enterprises, series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality, decreased, overall, by 8.6% compared to October 2023.
